LIGHT THE WAY CAMPAIGN

Oil Lamp Theater invites you to boldly step forward into a new chapter with us. More art. More community. More impact.

Welcoming over 10,000 guests a year from more than 225 communities—all in a 60-seat theater—Oil Lamp has become the heartbeat of Downtown Glenview and a cultural gem of the North Shore. Now, to keep pace with growing demand and deepen our impact, we must expand our facilities, our programs, and the support we offer to the artists and audiences who make this place thrive.

HISTORY

Oil Lamp Theater began in 2005 in a small condo in Chicago, driven by a passion for intimate, bold storytelling. In 2012, we incorporated as a nonprofit and established a permanent home in Glenview. When the pandemic hit, we adapted quickly—launching creative experiences like a drive-in theater, a parking lot cabaret, and a full outdoor venue with two complete productions. These innovations revealed the vital role of the arts in bringing people together and inspired our ongoing commitment to growth and resilience.
